" The Jaguar XJ, launched in the U.S. in 2003, was always a good car let down by its looks. Conceived in an era when Jaguar's management still believed that retro design was the new modernity, the XJ hid its advanced technology beneath a shape that had changed little since the 1970s. "

yeah the new XF, what the fucks that supposed to be, a ford or a lexus or what. Jaguar stick to what you know best, you've got your loyal followers, don't give in to these inferior monstrosities. Sir Charles Walliburton.

Gosh I didn't realise we were in 2016 already. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun. I'm sure that 2008 felt like yesterday lol lol.

No more jag leaper on the hood....and it's interesting how little the tail of these cars has changed in 9 years. It's an advantage to me, as I own a 2008 XJ8, and no one I know can tell it's 8 years old. Except for other Jag owners....ALthough there is more chrome on the window areas on the 2000.

There was a lunar grey 2008 Jaguar Super V8 at my local auto show today. I am a huge BMW fan (I have a 530i) and I appreciate the technology that the Germans put in to their cars but I have to say that this Jag had style and class that couldn't be beat.

This is 'real' class in comparison to its over the top German competitors, there is a fine line between what's required and what is a gimmick. (i.drive, nightvision etc.) This defines character, which cannot be said for the newer generation cars, plain dashboards, futuristic dials etc.

This is a unique vehicle that does not follow the crowd or continuously re-invent itself to sell. In my personal view put this beside any of its competitors be it in the 70's, 80's, 90's and even today this car wins hands down aesthetic wise. Like many, Edmunds are blinded solely by the brand name, I am not biased, only the new 96+ Mercedes s-class can compete amongst jaguar XJ.
